About Relationships Medway & North Kent

Relationships Medway & North Kent is an independent charity providing a range of counselling services for the communities of Medway & North Kent. 

Our main service is relationship counselling. This is provided online using Zoom and face to face from our Centre in Gillingham, for the communities of:

• Medway
  
• Dartford
  
• Gravesham
  
• Bexley 
  
• Sittingbourne 

In addition to relationship counselling, Relationships Medway & North Kent also provides Young Person Counselling and Psychosexual Therapy in our Medway and Dartford Centres 

Appointments

We operate a central appointment system, currently based in Gillingham. 

Our services may be accessed by calling the Appointment Team. 

The Appointment Team will listen to your needs, explain how our services operate, take a little information from you before discussing any appointment opportunities that may be available during your call.

We aim to provide the initial appointment with a Relationships Counsellor within 2 weeks of receiving your initial call. The first appointment is a one-off session, lasts 50 minutes, and is an opportunity to discuss your concerns, problems or difficulties with an experienced Relationships Counsellor. This may be the first opportunity for you to discuss your concerns in a non-judgemental and confidential environment. At the end of the session the Counsellor will indicate whether they believe that Relationships may be able to help you to work through your issues and explain how to request regular counselling sessions, if you decide to take that step. If your needs would be better addressed elsewhere then the Counsellor may suggest alternatives that you may wish to consider.

If you request regular counselling sessions, the Appointment Team will contact you to offer the first of a regular series of appointments as soon as they become available. These appointments, lasting 50 minutes, will be on days and at times that you have indicated that you can commit to attending weekly, fortnightly or as you chose. In these sessions you begin to focus on the issues that concern you, working through them until you reach your goals.
